iMissWe by T A Jones

On our way to

Love. I hope you found

Trust. Cause I know it

Was never enough to

Satisfy the must.

False start was the

Beginning of our end.

And no I’m not

Defending my lack of

Us in my mind when

You pulled back. But

I know I didn’t

Make it better.

Knowing we’ve seen better

Weather I should’ve

Looked out for better

Times ahead. But instead

I gave up. The fault is

Mine in this crime. So

I should’ve had no tears

Left to wept. But I still do

Because the ifs and maybes

Are better than the reality

I see. So I’ll raise a

Glass in remembrance of we.

“I consider all of these poems trash because they were written in the moment and never touched again.

This was written back in 2018 while I was in a long distance relationship that just felt long and tiring but I wanted to keep going. I couldn’t bare let them go but I couldn’t be happy because of the hurdles and this was a poem that came out of that. I never shared it with them.”
